This morning the children completed the Friday portion of their vocabulary sheet for our word for the week, indicate. Then, they chose which academic skill they wished to work on, since it is Free Choice Friday. After watching the announcements, we switched for math.
Math began with a session of Xtra Math as our warm up. Then, we began working on a math project by planning a party.
After enjoying lunch and outdoor recess, the students continued working on the party planning project.
I had to leave early today to be a mommy and help with my son's end of the year 5th grade party. SO, Mrs. M&M was here, in my place, this afternoon.
After math, the students will revise, edit, and publish the final draft of their poem.
Next, during the independent work block, they will complete the day 9 reading and job for their book clubs and then meet to discuss this section. After that, they will complete any unfinished work, including the using commas in letters practice sheet and the social studies quiz about the original 13 colonies. Then, they will work on a pamphlet, about 4th grade, to give to the rising fourth graders on Fly Up Day next Tuesday.
At the end of the day, the children will work on a class book, using Google Slides, called the ABC's of Fourth Grade. This presentation will be shown to the rising fourth graders on Tuesday. Each student, in my current class, has been assigned a letter. They will describe one aspect of 4th grade that begins with that letter and also create a Powtoon to go with it.
