Thrilling Thursday

I did not post yesterday since it was WIMS Day.

This morning the students completed the Thursday section of the vocabulary sheet for our word of the week, indicate.  Then, they worked on solving our weekly puzzles.  After the announcements, we switched for math.

Math began with some classifying quadrilateral Kahoots to review and prepare for our formative.  Then, we took the week 8 formative.  This has been graded and returned to students.

After enjoying lunch and recess, the students took one last quadrilateral formative.  These, too, have been graded and returned to students.

There is no math homework posted in GC this evening.

After math, we began our literacy block with a writing lesson.  Today, we explored the way poets used and broke the rules for capitalization and punctuation.  Then, the students looked over their own draft and identified which rules they followed and which they broke, and their reasons why they did so.

Next, the children went to music.

When they returned, they ate snack and worked on their independent work.  First, they had to complete their week 8 formative comparing two accounts on the same topic.  These were due today.  After that, they worked on their day 8 book club assignments and met with their groups.  Next, they finished their commas in letters practice sheets, using the screen cast, and their social studies quiz using the linkes posted in GC- Social Studies.

We ended the day by discussing preparations for Fly Up day when they get the chance to tell the rising fourth graders (current third graders) about 4th grade.
