During the independent work block, the students completed the Monday and Tuesday sections for our new reading skills practice sheet.  After that, they reread, ¨The Story of the Paper of Happiness,¨ from WTMMTM.  AS they read they used the strategy, Stop*Think*Paraphrase, buy stopping every 3-4 paragraphs and jotting the big idea from that section on a graphic organizer.  Next, the children completed a noun practice sheet, using the screen cast from yesterday, if needed.  Finally, the children continued typing and revising their fiction writing piece, using the feedback they received from their partner.
