This morning the students commented on the morning message about their weekend and then completed the Monday section of the vocabulary sheet for our new word of the week, furious. After the announcements, we switched for math.
Math began with a warm up reviewing area, perimeter, and angle measurements. After that, the students worked their way through another scavenger hunt, reviewing fourth grade math concepts that might be on PARCC.
Then, the children enjoyed lunch and outdoor recess.
After recess, the students took the fourth, and final, unit of the Reading/Language Arts PARCC test. Testing will resume Thursday with math.
After the test, the students ate snack and then went to PE.
When they returned to class, after PE, they children got into groups of 3 and sorted some task cards according to whether they thought the tasks were duties of the governor of Maryland, or not. Finally, we reviewed each item and identified it as a responsibility of the governor, or of another branch of the Maryland state government.
